What measures have been taken about COVID-19?

No cases of infection were found in any of Girotti’s workers. All measures are taken to prevent the virus. All workplaces are disinfected several times a day, and the temperature of all employees is checked at the beginning and end of the working day.

Can the virus be transferred to the shoes?

According to the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) “there is no evidence to support that transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods”. This means the virus cannot be transferred to the shoes.

Is there a change in the delivery schedule?

All manufacturing processes currently are going according to schedule. With the spread of COVID-19, online shopping continues to rise dramatically. Because of this shipping may sometimes take longer than expected. We are working 24/7 to make sure your order arrives as quickly as possible. You would be notified by our customer service if any delay on your order can be expected. Thank you for your understanding!

How are GIROTTI shoes made?

All GIROTTI shoes are handmade by specially selected genuine materials of highest quality. Each stage of the production process is subject to strict quality control to guarantee the impeccable looks, strength and comfort of your top class new GIROTTI shoes!

How long time does it take to make the shoes?

The time to make and deliver the shoes you have ordered takes 5-10 business days.

The hand-making of customized shoes is a complex and time-consuming process, which is why customers usually make associations with months of waiting. As a direct manufacturer with many years of experience, GIROTTI can take the credit of being capable to offer the shortest leadtime possible in that industry!

Who is making the shoes?

We dare say that we have formed a team out of the most talented, experienced and skilled master-shoemakers in Europe. It is exactly them who tackle the hand-making of your GIROTTI shoes!

What warranty do the shoes come with?

We accept claims for defective or damaged shoes within 30 days as of the date of their receipt and we shall bear the cost of shipment for returns and replacements.

If the shoes do not fit your size, you are entitled to a single free replacement. To do this, you should contact us not later than 14 days as of the date of receiving the shoes that you want to replace.

How can I find the shoes that suit me?

One of the best things you will find with GIROTTI is that you will always get the exact shoes that you want! The easiest way to get the dreamed pair of shoes is to take a look at our latest collections Women`s collection, Men`s collection and pick up the model that comes perfectly close to your preferences. After that you can modify it as you like using our 3D configurator! Materials, shapes, colors, height … – it’s all up to you!

How to properly use your shoes?

Try to mostly use a shoehorn to assist you when you put your shoes on. It will keep your heel support part safe from damage and make it super easy for you to get your Custom Girotti shoes on.

How to clean your shoes?

Leave them for 24 hours after wearing so they are completely dry, even inside.
Then clean leather shoes with soft brush and suede shoes with special brush for suede.
After your shoes are dry and brushed, you can wipe the outsoles with damp cloth to remove a left grime.

How to store your shoes?

Simple but effective methods to make your shoes last longer is to put them out for few hours after wearing them. Make sure they are dry and clean before storing them. Last but not least, always use paper or special shoe shapers to keep them in good shape.

What materials do you offer?

You can browse through the available options and select the materials you like by opening the selected model in the 3D configurator.

For making the upper of your shoes, we rely on calfskin leather of highest grade. We also offer a wide variety of top grade genuine leather, suede, nubuck and lacquers of different colors and treatment methods to choose from.

For the lining (the inner part of shoes) you can choose from soft genuine leather, genuine fur, warm polar fleece or synthetic furred fabric, depending on the shoe type and season of use.

What is the origin of our materials?

We work in collaboration with some of the most renowned leather factories in Italy to satisfy even the most pretentious taste.

All materials that we use have European origin and meet the highest requirements for quality, strength and safety.

How can I be sure about the quality of materials?

To be sure of the quality of our materials, we rely on multiple tests, laboratory analysis and certifications. ICEC (ISO9001:2008; ISO14001:2004), SCAM, TÜV, SGS are only some of the certificates that can reassure you of the quality of leathers used for the production of your GIROTTI shoes!

Can I get a sample of the materials?

Currently we cannot provide samples of the materials. Anyway, we are working on it and you can expect the availability of this option very soon.

What material/s are the soles made of?

The soles can be made of all types of materials that are preferably used in the shoe-making industry, such as thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), polyurethane, ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA), and rubber.

The soles of GIROTTI shoes are also of Italian origin and we rely on one of the most favored factories by shoemakers in Italy.

Do the colors fully match the ones shown on the website?

Every monitor has customized settings of colors and brightness, therefore there may be differences between what you see on your monitor and the real colors of materials. Such differences are usually minor but if you have any doubt, you can contact us at any time for further information.


What sizes do you offer?

All women’s models can be made in sizes 2.5 to 8.5. The big women’s sizing 9.5-12.5 is available for selected models only and you may look it through here.

All men’s shoes can be made in sizes 5.5 to 12.5.

Where can I find the sizing options?

You can find the sizes available for your selected model in the product page with the model in the field entitled Size.

Furthermore, when looking up a model in our catalogue, you may use the size filter that will show up only those models, which are available for the size you wanted.

When customizing a model in our 3D configurator you can go through all available sizes for the sole you have selected in the menu Sole.

Size correspondence according to different sizing standards?

You can find detailed information and table of the exact size measures for each specific model by choosing size/width from the option My Size?

How can I measure my foot and find the size to fit me?

Do you offer made-to-measure shoes?

At this stage we cannot offer made-to-measure shoes.

I have wide feet. Do you have fitting shoes to offer me?

Yes, some of the models offer the option to choose not only the size but also the width. You can view our models suitable for people with wide feet here.


How can I design my own shoes?

With GIROTTI you can create shoes of your own design as easy as ABC. Just pick up a model from our catalogue and modify it by clicking the “Edit design“ option. If you want to start from scratch, go to the Create Shoe page and choose a shoe style of your preference.

Both ways, you will be redirected to GIROTTI’s 3D configurator. In the right-hand menu, pick the part that you want to modify and how you want it to look (e.g. click front panel and set a material, e.g. genuine red suede).

Your design will be visualized in the left-hand portion of the screen, where by means of the 360° panoramic view you can inspect each and every detail of your shoe.

Experiment with materials, colors, shapes and accessories … Bring your work to completion by adding a monogram or brief inscription.

When you are satisfied with the final result, you may proceed to ordering your model to be handmade by us especially for you or else save it in your profile and place your order later.

What types of shoes can I create by my own design?

The variety of designs that you may create is enormous, anyway generally they may be grouped in the following basic models:

  • Women’s shoes – classic type, Oxford shoes; slip-on shoes; loafers
  • Women’s ankle boots – casual boots, Chelsea boots, Chelsea boots perforated (brogue), biker’s boots, flat ankle boots
  • Women’s boots – thigh high boots (over the knee boots); classic boots; casual boots; artistic (extravagant) models; Boho style boots
  • Men’s boots, Men‘s Oxford shoes and Men‘s Derby shoes

Can I save the shoes I designed and order them later?

Yes. To do this you need to create a user profile and log into it.

I do not seem to be able to create the design that I want. Can you help me?

Of course! Our designers are always ready and willing to give you free consultation and help you create the perfect shoes for you. Write us and we‘ll offer you our ready-made designs and professional advice or contact us by phone to receive directions on how to work with our 3D configurator.

Can I use a ready-made design for my shoes?

Yes. We have prepared for you many great designer’s propositions. If you like any of them, you can go and order it directly just like in traditional online shops. Unlike mass production though, GIROTTI shoes are not manufactured in advance and then sold but instead are made by hand only upon receiving an order.

I liked a shoe model from your catalogue. Can I change only some details in it?

Yes. Use the Edit Design option and change only those shoe details that you want.

If I change the design of my shoes from the catalogue, will the price change too?

No. Shoe customization is absolutely free. You can change the materials, the colors, the soles, the accessories, add a monogram or inscription on the shoes without changing the initial price of selected shoes at all.

The price of a model is fixed for the selected type of shoe. All it means is that price will change only if you switch from one certain type of shoe to another (for instance, from ankle boots to high boots).

What kind of changes can I make to the models shown in the catalogue?

You can change the design of every model shown in our catalogue, either in whole or in part. Depending on the selected type of shoes, you can change the material and color of the upper or the lining or the sole, or change the height or type of the heel or platform, or modify the seams, perforations, laces and other decorative details of the shoe … You are also given the option to add a monogram or a brief personal inscription to your shoes!

All options for modifying the design and customized features of your shoes will be available to you after you load the model you have selected in the 3D configurator.

Free Inscription

What exactly is the Free Inscription option?

By using the free inscription option you have the opportunity to additionally customize your shoes by adding a monogram and/or brief inscription of your choice.

Is there an extra charge for adding an inscription on the shoes?

No, it is absolutely free.

What versions for inscriptions on shoes do you offer?

We can add initials (monogram) on the shoe upper and a longer “invisible” inscription, both inside, on the inner sole, and outside, on the outer sole of the shoes.

What does inscribing the shoes with initials (monogram) mean?

At a special place on the model you have selected we can add your initials – up to 2 capital letters (with or without points after or in-between). The place, as well as the particular method of engraving – by perforation, embroidery or laser engraving, will depend on the selected model.

Our designers will strictly monitor that the inscription be “written” to the best way possible to go with the shoes vision. Normally, it is placed at the back (in the area of the heel) using non-contrasting color similar to the color of shoes.

What does inscribing the inner sole and/or outer sole mean?

If adding a monogram to the shoes would give them classy look, then an inscription on their inner and/or outer sole will turn them into unique object of sentimental value carrying your personal message.

An inspiring motto, the name of a beloved person, a memorable date or anything else you want up to 26 symbols may be engraved on both the inner and/or outer sole of your favorite shoes, again absolutely free.

Can I take advantage of both versions for free inscription – monogram on the upper and text inscription on the inner sole and outer sole?

Yes! Give us your initials and a text, and leave the rest to us!

How can I take advantage of the option for free inscription on shoes?

On the page displaying your selected model of shoes, as well as in our 3D configurator you will find the button +Add inscription for FREE. It will take you to a pop-up window where you may add a monogram to the left and an inscription for the inner and outer sole of the shoes to the right. If you want to take advantage of only one type of inscription, fill in only the field/fields for the type of inscription you want, and leave the other field blank.

Can I see in advance how my inscription will look like?

You can get a good idea how your inscription will look like from the illustrations displayed in the free inscription option window.


How can I check the status of my order?

You can track the status of your order in the page My Orders but to do this you need to log into your profile.

Upon every change in the status of your order you will be notified immediately by e-mail.

Can I cancel my order?

If you have ordered a custom-made model you have the opportunity to cancel your order before it has been proceeded to the production stage. After it enters the production stage though, it can no longer be cancelled.

You may cancel any order for a non-personalized model (from the Ready-to-wear collections) at any time before shipment for no reason.

Contact us as soon as possible and we will check the status of your order and whether it can be cancelled. You can do that by yourself by logging into your user profile, then go to My Orders and choose the Cancel Order option.

Expect to receive our confirmation for your cancellation by e-mail. If you do not receive such confirmation within a couple of hours, please, contact us immediately.

Can I change the design of my shoes after I have placed my order?

Yes. You can contavt our Customer support for this or to login in your profile here and cancel your order. After you make sure that your order has been cancelled, select the product that you want to redesign from My Orders. You will be redirected to another product page where you can make the corrections you want. After that proceed to place a new order.

Please note that only you can make the above changes. Our employees will be happy to assist you and answer all your questions but they cannot change the design instead of you.

Can I place orders by phone?

No, but you can contact us to assist you in completing your order online.


To which countries do you make deliveries?

We ship worldwide!

How is the shipment processed?

Shipment is processed by courier service (Fedex or other local delivery company) to the destination address specified by the customer.

How much does the shipment cost?

Shipment is free for the customer in USA, EU and Switzerland.

Are there any taxes or duties charged or payable?

No, the entire cost of delivery is at GIROTTI’s charge.

How long does it take to make the delivery?

The whole process of making your shoes by hand and deliver them to a specified destination address takes 5-10 business days.


What payment methods will you accept?

For US and all European countries you can pay by credit card, via PayPal and by bank wiring.

In addition, for Germany and Austria we accept payments by Giropay, SOFORT Überweisung and invoice (after the third month), and for Italy – by CartaSi.

What kind of credit cards do you accept?

Currently we accept Master Card, Visa and American Express, as well as Carte Bleue for France and CartaSi for Italy.

How are my data protected via online payment?

No matter which payment method you may choose, your data will be 100% secured and only authorized institutions (such as the bank issuing your card) may access them. For payments with credit or debit card, we use the SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology for encoding your data, and for extra protection we also support 3D Secure payment.

Do you offer any discount codes?

Yes. Keep an eye on the promotional campaigns posted in our website and in our facebook page.

How can I use the discount code?

Add the shoes that you want to order in your shopping cart. Copy your code and paste it in the field Enter your coupon code if you have one, then click the button Apply Coupon. If the code has been properly attached, your discount will be deducted from the price of the products in your shopping cart.

Returns and Refunds

The shoes do not fit. Can I replace them?

Yes, in case your shoes do not fit exactly, you have the right to one free replacement.

Contact us as soon as possible, but not later than 14 days as of receiving the shoes and we will work a new pair for you to a fitting size.

What to do if the shoes I have received are defective?

Contact us as soon as possible, but not later than 30 days as of receiving the shoes. We’ll be happy to repair your shoes or replace them with new ones – handmade to the same design. You can also return the product without replacement – in such case we are going to refund the whole sum paid by you.

What can I do if the design of the shoes I have received differs from the design I have ordered?

If there is a significant difference between the design of shoes that you ordered and the design of shoes that you have received – for instance the shape, sole, material, colors, accessories or size, the product will be considered defective and may be returned or replaced.

Please, bear in mind that a slight difference between the visualization of your design as it appears on our site and the actual model you receive, is possible. For instance, the colors displayed on your monitor depend on the customized settings and may create expectations for a bit different shades. In such cases the product will not be considered defective and will not be replaced or returned.

What is the procedure for return and replacement of already purchased shoes?

You can order replacement and/or return of a product directly from your user profile. Go to the section My Returned Products choose Order New Return and follow the steps described there.

In what cases can my order for replacement or return of shoes be refused?

In case your order concerns replacement due to unfitting size, your order will be refused if you have had replaced your shoes once and you want a second replacement. Shoes that show traces of having been worn and used will not be replaced either. To satisfy your order for replacement or return, you need to place it within 14 days as of receiving the shoes.

If you want to order the replacement or return of a defective pair, you need to notify us about the defect not later than 30 days as of the date of receiving the shoes, by describing the defect in great details and attaching photos to illustrate the problem, if possible. We have the right to refuse replacement or return of the product when, to our opinion, the product cannot be classified as defective – for instance in case of intentional damages or damages resulting from improper use, etc.

Replacement or return orders for no sound reason will not be satisfied.

How can I find out what is happening with the products ordered for replacement or return?

To track the progress of your order for replacement or return from your user profile – go to the section My Returned Products. Moreover, upon every change in the progress of your order, you will be promptly notified by e-mail.

Who will pay the shipping cost for returns or replacements?

The cost of return and/or replacement of defective products will be entirely charged on GIROTTI.

For replacement of an unfitting product one-time shipping cost will be charged on GIROTTI.

Website / Technical Issues

The 3D designer would not open. What should I do?

Try opening the 3D designer in another browser (for instance Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) or, if you are using an outdated version of the browser, try to update it.

Check also if the use of Javascript on your computer has been enabled. If Javascript has been disabled, you need to enable it.

Contact us and we shall try to help you troubleshoot the problem together.

I seem not to be able to log into my account. Can you help me?

The most common reason for unsuccessful login is a forgotten password. Click on Forgot Your Password? under the login fields and enter the e-mail address of your registration to receive a message containing login data.

If you are still unable to log into your account, please, contact our customer service center.

I seem not to be able to complete my order. What could be the reason for this?

Most likely the reason for this is omission to enter all required information for its completion. Please, check again if all obligatory fields marked with "*" have been properly completed.

Where can I view the models I have saved?

All the designs you have saved can be found in the My Wishlist section in your user profile.
